Why We Use a Flaxseed Base
Milled flaxseed ensures a consistent product blend. Individual ingredients vary in size and density resulting in heavier particles settling to the bottom of the container. Particles adhere to the fat in flax providing uniformity of nutrients in every serving.
The pelleting process of supplements involves pressure, and sometimes heat, which is not optimal for all ingredients.
Directions for Use
Feed to horses weighing 1,000 lbs. at the rate of 120 grams per day (4.2 oz.) to provide specified nutrients. Usage should be increased or reduced proportionately, based on weight.
The enclosed 1/2 cup scoop will hold approximately 60 grams when filled to the 100 ml line. Provide two (2) scoops-filled to the 100 ml line-per day to provide specified nutrients. For more precise dosing, use an accurate gram scale. When not in use, store product in a sealed container, away from heat and moisture.
Introduce gradually to ensure consumption. The balancer should be split into 2 feedings if possible (morning and night) with a carrier such as soaked hay pellets.
Recommendation
Consider adding loose salt and additional ground flaxseed in bucket feed to meet minimum sodium and Omega 3-6-9 requirements.

Ground flaxseed should be fed at a rate of 4.5 ounces per 1,000 pounds of body weight. Increase or reduce proportionately, based on weight. 4.5 ounces – 1.8 ounces (included in this balancer) = 2.7 supplemental ounces for a 1,000 lb. horse. One ounce of ground flaxseed is approximately 1/4 cup or 4 Tablespoons.
